i have a few buttons on my mpc4k that take a little extra pressure to get to actuate. i see that there is a pcb-mounted tactile switch under each button and from experience which is more prone to fail? i'll be taking the machine apart to add ram shortly and i'll take a close look at that time but figured it would hurt to ask in the interim. i see that both the switches and buttons are available from mpc-stuff.com and i'm good with a soldering iron.

You might need to get the buttons from MPC Stuff but you can get the tact switches (the more likely culprit) much cheaper elsewhere.

There is more than one different tact Switch for the buttons in the 4K, I think there are three (correct me if I'm wrong). Perhaps in the service manual you can find more info.
