MPC 2000xl help!

Hi, Im just got myself an MPC 2000xl and was tring some stuff out.
Now I have sequenced my drums and I am ready to lay down a chopped sample.
But when I make a new programme the drums I have sequenced turn into the chopped sample.
How do I create a new programme and still be able to leave the drums sequenced as they are?
Bare with me, I'm new to this.

When you slice you need to LOOK at the options when saving. SAVE AS NEW PROGRAM or something like that. The new program will be placed in DRUM1 and your old program with the original samples will be placed in DRUM2, you need to change them back around. Read your manual.

yea just load each program into different DRUM slots, then set the appropriate DRUM selection per track. :mrgreen:

Download the manual and read into DRUM.

2kxl has 4 DRUMs that can be played at the same time.
1 DRUM = a+b+c+d banks = 64 pads
PGM (program) is a single DRUM and all it's parameter/pad "settings" (not the actual sounds).
ALL is all mixer/sequence "settings" in a single file (not the actual sounds).
APS is all programs and sounds "settings" in a single file (not the actual sounds).
WAV/SND are the actual samples.

2kxl cannot read across folders, meaning don't split 1 project into different folders and try to load that single project, it won't/cant happen.

If you don't know the difference just save APS+ALL w/ sounds, and that will save your entire project. Place each project in it's own folder for organizational purposes, you'll be glad you did later on, for now just do that.

read the manual and push the buttons you read about while trying to make a beat. It will all become clear as you move along and experiment.

Timestretch takes a LONG ass time to stretch time when timing that stretch of time you want to stretch.
