What do you mean?? I am trying to recreate your problem and can not. So maybe i do not understand what you mean. So in main screen i have cursor in grid right?? and record.
If loop is set it will loop. If loop is not set and you are recording then it will add bars to the sequence.
If loop is set it will loop. If loop is not set and you are recording then it will add bars to the sequence.
