It is important to understand how this "choppy sample" sequence would happen.

Let's say, you want to chop 1 bar drum break sample into two chops. And you've successfully looped the whole sample in MPC, say 100.0 BPM.
If you chop like figure A, no overlapping, most likely you'll end up like figure B when it is sequenced in MPC, in the same BPM. Yes, you can set fade in and out to zero, but most likely those two chopped samples are not in the same length, most likely you'll end up getting some gap between the chops. You can avoid the gap by simply speeding up (increasing the BPM) by a bit, but that's not always what you want. (the loop will sound awkward.)
I always chop samples with overlapping parts with each chops. I haven't used autochop type of functions, but if you use it, I think it is important to know how each chopped samples are taken from which part.
With chopped samples with overlapping parts (Figure C), you can apply fade in and fade out, enabling smooth loop.
