volume?

i sent the 4000 i got back, because of a problem with the headphone jack. now the new one i have sounds a bit better but, the volume of it thru the headphones is not all that high. is this normal? could someone please help me out here?

nah i'm usin it alone, just experimenting with the internal sounds, tryin to get comfortable with the thing but, the volume is just low, not real low but, my motif will deafen you when it's turned all the way up and this mpc is all the way up and barely bumps. i was just wonderin is this normal or what?

go to global and turn the master level all the way up if you havent done that yet it helps alot.

yeah i'm usin the motif, the 4000, and a pc with an mbox and protools le. it's alright for a beginner i guess.

that dont sound like no begginer equipment but how u hook up da motif to da 4k?, u usin a mixer or u hook all that up to the pc or sumthin?

The best way to "monitor" your setup is to get hold of a smaller mixer. Something like a Behringer MX602a will give you enough inputs and outputs to happily monitor signals and make routing signals a lot easier.

And yes, the headphone output on the MPC4000 is very weak. The output on the MX602a can go a lot louder!
