I've made it a habit to always open up transferred samples in sound forge because that same thing happened to me before also.

I got Ak.Sys to work just as badly in Windows 7 XP Mode as it did on Windows XP :) So I'd say it's a pretty excellent and accurate emulation

I've got Fusion sorted and working well. Installed Ak.sys which loads up fine, but it's not finding the 4k for some reason... :hmmm:

I downloaded some kind of usb driver (akMPC 4KU system file) from the Akai site, but I haven't got a clue what to do with it?!

I'll come back to this with a fresh head...

ok, got it working too on W7 64b ultim.

with virtualbox (allthough from renowned soft supplier oracle) no success ; i think you have to release the MPC-USB driver in your host OS but could not get to it (there goes 25y of IT experience)

with vmware piece of cake ; you can patch through your USB drive / equipment in the status bar // very stable ; don't forget to reserve enough mem (for your apps) in the new XP

just go to device management in XP to install your MPC USB driver & then launch aksys

please pm for more intel...

After a bit of tinkering with drivers I've managed to get it up and running. I have to refresh the browser a few times but it eventually picks up the 4k and works well. 8)

Slightly different topic, I missed out on the free amd mobo and cpu today right down the street from comic con, giveaway event ended 20 minutes ago and I heard about it 30 minutes ago, I wasn't close enough to get there quickly. DAMMIT!

I would have thrown this into a new computer build and had to do this aksys thing all over again, lmao.

Same here pretty much. I also have run it on 32bit Windows 7. In all cases it works to a point and then just stops transferring. Relaunch it and it's good again for a while anyway. Native XP, XP Mode 64bit, Windows 7 32 bit, is the performance order from best to worst. Again same weird behavior on all three with time for the transfers just stopping differing.
