problems with my 16gb memory card

can someone maybe help me out with this one...

just got an akai 16gb memory card and from some reason when i firewire my 1000 to my laptop it only shows 2gbs of memory available. i bought the card new so i know its has 16 gb available. i tried formatting and defragmenting the disk but it still only shows 2gb available. anyone know whats up with this?

You must mean USB not firewire, but obviously you had the 1000 mounted as a removable disc. It may be a 2GB read limitation of the Akai OS if that's what your using. I know on my 1000 and 2500 with JJOS I am able to use 2,4 and 8GB CF cards.

I don't have any but many users with 1000's and JJOS have reported their 16GB cards working.

Use the search on this forum, a definitive answer is more than likely here. If you have trouble with the search function (certain keywords just get so many hits it's hard to sift through them all) just use Google and type "MPC 1000 16GB CF card MPCForums."
That is always the quickest way for me to zero in on the thread and posts I need.

thanks for the help ill try it and see if it works when i get a a chance today. yeah i also have a mpc500 and i use an 8gb card for that one and it works perfectly. so ill see whats up. ty again
