Hard drive tray question

Hi,

Previous owner of the MPC 4000 I bought took out the HD tray that kept the 3,5" hard disk inside. I can't find any tray that fits the 4000. Can you help me?

Are you saying you don't have a harddrive in it also? That may be a blessing in disguise. You might as well do the wonderful upgrade of getting a solid state drive (SSD) that is IDE. That way you don't have any moving parts that will break over time. It will make your MPC lighter in weight as well. You may find that you need an adapter (also the enclosures are here) too in which case look at the addonics site http://www.addonics.com/category/hdd_enclosure.php

Then you will have an ultra modern mpc.

I do have a HD. Had one at home in my very old PC. I don't have a tray.

Have a look at this ebay item: 180923221897

It is a 3.5 to 5.25 hard drive adapter plate that you could probably use if you drill 4 holes in the right places to fit on the spacers on the MPC base.

Unless you can get the official part from VST/Akai/MPC Stuff then I'm not sure where these trays originate from. You wouldn't think they were specific to the MPC, but I don't know.
