I own an MPD32. What you are saying here is far from accurate.

Over the past few weeks, we have seen MPC Ren tutorial detailing several functions to include improvements.

Feel free to contribute to the running poll.

GodDevilWhatever wrote:Tell me what an MPC Renaissance can do better than a mapped MPD controller to a DAW. Akai forgets that computer production has grown drastically in the past 3 years.

DAWs can grown but the hardware of the MPD remains fixed. My MPD 32 can't control a DAW to the level I expect the Ren can. Also, all DAWs don't make it easy to mapp its paramters to external controllers.

Name a DAW that I can completely control using only the MPD 32. I will download the demo and immediately purchase it...if it can accomplish what you boast here.

what happens when you cop 2 rens and then 9 months later they drop the mkII with all your requested features? hope they are available as an upgraded OS or peripheral upgrade?

or do you just cop two more and support the company you love?

don't answer that....

I am more than happy to answer....

I see a new controller as a good thing but suspect they won't drop another controller so soon. But if they do, I will sell (or give away) one of my OG controllers and buy the new MKII controller. Why whould I not? I have purchased every highend MPC released since 1997 as there has never been a better product on the market.....

It's been about 1 1/2 months....

No new videos have been posted...but a lot of conversations about the pros/cons of Akai's new direction. Has any of your mind..one way or the other? This is a running poll so you can change your vote.

This is very true. An MPD32 only allows 72 assignable controls. Even if you wanted to assign CC's to extra pads if you have them in your flow, you can't. The pads can only send note messages and program changes.

The 72 assignable controls aren't even enough to fully map a plugin like BPM. MOTU actually gives you 2 presets to cover the controls and you still couldn't come close to mapping the whole thing because the controllers are fixed and not dynamic like Automap for instance. By that I mean you need a unique CC # for every slider and knob. Every pad can potentially have full cutoff/res ADSR etc. You run out real quick.
