How much should i spend on a 2000xl?

Ive been looking online for this mpc and see that there are different price ranges, nothing consistent, whats the average price for one in good condition?

Generally in the $400-$500 range. That would usually be a person to person sale, eBay they may go higher at times.

Those prices usually net you one in near mint condition with the 32MB RAM and the 8 output board installed. And at the high end of that price scale or a bit above you may get the FX board installed as well.

There's a lot of units in circulation. Careful on the LCD screens, the XL has a heat issue that eventually kills the LCD. The less use you can confirm an XL has had the better off you'll be.

You might even find a lined LCD unit for extra cheap and get one of the new replacement LCD at around $170 or so from MPCStuff.com. Although they have had minor issues, check those threads here for more on that.

I have a lined one and I couldn't see asking more than $200-250 for it, then the buyer could use the savings for the replacement screen.

definitely get one with a card reader already installed. don't fk with floppies or Zips.

i just bought another xl that was in emasculate cosmetic condition, with a card reader, max ram, and 8 outs, for 450. and i already have one, but my buttons are starting to go to sh** and the machine is getting old.

id say if it has the upgrades and depending on the condition id pay up to 500

make sure that the LCD screen doesn't have any dead pixels as well... and be aware that at some point your screen WILL eventually start to die out...
