yeah i use everything cept the looper. well sometimes i play with it but in real terms no i do not use it. otherwise i do use every feature. thats why i bought it

Yeah, I use a lot of its features. I stumbled on that step sequences a month ago. That's my thing right now. I love that feature.

The only thing the OS lacks is a decent export feature. Beat Thang export feature is super tight from what I saw.

My MPC 2500 arrives today and I will install the JJOS. I just received an email from MPC Stuff indicating my order was shipped (Fat pads, XL screen). Hope that included the screen and not just the pads.

The 2500 screens are now shipping and available in stock. So, yes JAH yours went out with both parts included.

Hell yeah! Thanks.

But I am feeling broke right about now though. Buying a MPC 2500, the new screen, fat pads, JJOS2XL...and then I have to buy the 128XL OS and a hard drive....good lawd.

Why would I not buy it?

It's not being ported to the big screen and the OS is nearing the end of its development cycle...

I'm sure JJ will take your money anyway.

An OS not being updated anymore doesn't make it useless. I would prefer that it did come to the end of its development cycle and just fix any remaining bugs. The merry-go-round of removing features to add new ones is not that appealing to me.

Besides, the new OS is still a work in progress and missing many features found on OS2XL. And the XL screen can still display OS2XL on half its screen.

Plus, I will finally be able to send JJ OS projects to Akai in hopes of being able to load them into the Ren. I had asked current JJ OS users for files...and they got irrate.

Totally agree.

I don't think they see the potential. Even just a stripped down software only version of the Ren could be lucrative for Akai, and a bonus for users of older MPC's.

Akai is a hardware company first. So it seems they are focused on selling this MPC package. Anything could be possible for the future.

true... i thought jjos 1 on the 1k was the end all be all, until i got 2500 with XL on it.. but honestly i wpuld have been just fine with only working on os1, i had no intentions of upgrading to os 2 or os2XL..

So Jah.... How long before you sell?

I'll sell it if I see I don't need it anymore or have no space for it. Forum members should know by now...new MPC products will find their way to my lab at some point. And as I see it...you do need some people to give honest assessments of products around here IMHO.

So when we start having the MPC Ren vs JJ OS128 vs Maschine 1.8 threads, I will be speaking from the experience of having all these products right in front of me....
