Thank you so much guys, I understand lol. One last thing if you guys don't mind I'm not at ho$e so I don't have my manual, how do you use the 2 seperate prograams together? Like for example I like my sample loop and I wanna make sure my drums go with it? Should I just use one program and set the pads I want to note on and do it that way, or is there a way to use 2 programs together? Thanks guys last question on the topic, I promose! Lol thanks again guys

program01 -----> track 1 (sample)
program02 -----> track 2 (kick)
program02 -----> track 3 (snare)
program02 -----> track 4 (hi-hat)

Thanks so much guys I'm a retard, because of my software using past I was confused I thought a program was like the session file on software, I thought you were supposed to make the whole song in the same program, I thought this because of how the mpc was set up with the stock sounds and programs, and also probably by watching people playing their mpcs live on youtube lol. Thanks for being patient with me guys I really appreciate the help

hope you found a solution to your question. i see that this is an old post but I'd like to post this regardless because i experienced the same issue as well so this will be available for others that come after us. It is true that you can use mono and poly to have samples overlap or play separately but that alone won't completely solve the issue. your samples will still overlap each other no matter which way you go (unless you use the one shot feature which will make playing your samples suck and make the sound of them very choppy). there will be certain samples you will want to be interrupted when you play another samples but there will be other samples still that you do want to overlap like a kick drum a phrase sample for instance. the notion that u have to use different programs to solve this problem is ridiculous. what makes the mpc so sweet is its ability to make things more practical in your sequencing. using different programs is not practical. what has to be done is on your parameters edit screen theres options under the voice overlap option called mute group and mute target. in order to have certain samples mute when other samples are played you have to assign them to the same mute group. the samples you want to play together will automatically overlap as long as you don't assign them to that mute group. as far as the mute target option it allows you even more flexibility to make the sample your editing interrupt any of the four samples you select in this option but be overlapped if samples are played after this one. the mute group option will solve most of your overlapping issues. have your play option on poly so all samples have to potential to play together and put each individual pad on mono so it doesn't overlap itself when being played. then make your distinctions between what samples you want to play together and what samples your what to interrupt each other with the mute group option.
