CD - DRIVE Problem

Hello everbody,
I have a Question. I buy a new Mp 2500 and want to install a CD Drive.
I take the old Drive from my Laptop. The Problem is when the CD Drive is inside the MPC my Hard Disk will not displayed.
Can i use every CD drive or only the CDM 25 from Akai ?

take a look around the forum to find which cd or dvd drives work with the mpc 2500.
some drives may require a little pin modification to work in the mpc. also, if i remember correctly, the master/slave jumpers have to be removed.

does your old cd-drive work? if so, then it is perfectly normal not to see the hdd at the same time, since the internal connection can only mount one device at a time. so you can either see the internal memory, the cf-card, the hdd or the cd-drive, but not two of them at the same time. this is also the reason why you cannot copy files from the cf-card directly to the hdd. the usb connection works the same way, you can either mount the cf-card or the hdd, but not both at the same time.

there is pin mod you gotta do to make the cdrom slave instead of master, that's why you not seeing hard disk...search the forum

didn't know this... just had my DVD light blinking forever... dunno if it even supports dvds
