True, but lets master the basics first before we get into the exotic. With a full computer program now it should be easy to be prolific with updates.

The basics to me is to include all the features found in current and legacy MPCs. I can wait for everything else. A perfect example is the MPC 5000. While it adds features no other MPC has, it was still missing essential MPC 4000 features. So many around here never truly saw it as Akai's flagship product.

Didnt the previous mpc's cover the basic pretty damn good already?

Are you just obsessed with not seeing the Ren? Are just obsessed with not seeing technology advance? What is your obsession with this argument here? Obviously you can stil use prior mpc's. What is your point for this argument that you bring? Stand alone? This is all the prior mpc's. Why can't a new more computer based mpc's be built? Why? Why can't a new computer based mpc's be built? You can STILL stay with your current stand alone mpc which is STILL VERY CAPABLE. I'm not understanding this whole thing here and I'm calling BULLSHIT on all stand alone elitist. Stay with your current stand alone if you don't feel it, nothing is,wrong with that. I have a 2k and 4k and I'm fine with them. Why r so many so upset at the Ren for pushing forward or failing? Tell me that, please.

Not the Numark MPCs. They did not cover the basics well. Did I not say that I think the Ren is going to be the shiznit in the video clip thread. Did I not say it was a good idea in this thread. Some you need to take your Numark capes off, and stop rushing to defend.

My OPINIONS(not argument) have nothing to do with technology. It has everything to do with the vision of Numark. JJ saved the 1000 and 2.5k. Had it not been for JJ every MPC that Numark came out with would have been a #Fail. So there's absolutely no reason to expect anything different with the MPC Ren unless JJ was part of the development. I think the Ren is going to be good, but I really don't have anything to base that belief on. I for sure won't be part of the first wave of buyers.

How dare you use evidence based reasoning to form an opinion... especially in the Ren forum.

Never ever had a Numark cape, I will never have one, lmao.

For certain reason, I won't be either, I want to wait a while.

From reading several threads on the forums, JJ did seem to ease the pain of alot of users. I've never used jjos but the jjos happiness is undeniable.

Your opinion in this thread is pretty confusing to me. I honestly can't tell whether you like the new MPC's or if you don't! Your above opinion is perfectly valid and understandable, and I agree 100%. But the below opinion is just false and contradicting, IMO.

MPCWeapon1 wrote:My questions is why can't this thing be simply a sampling drum machine, with advanced sampling capabilities for the hardcore sampler and focus on doing those jobs to perfection. The MPC has become way too convoluted and attempts to do way too many things than it should. Just My Opinion. In music, simplicity is genius. We'll see how simple and intuitive this software is when it drops.

I dont believe JJ saved the MPC 2500. If anything, he hurt the sales of the 2500 as the JJOS made the 1000 an equal.

Have to disagree. The Akai OS was shit. I mean it was good for the 1990's. But in 2006 and up, it was way behind and lacking. Didn't really add much in comparison to a 2000XL. JJOS even made the save/load menu more intuitive. And JJ only made the 1000 an equal software wise. But hardware wise, the 1000 was not at all equal. I think the only think that hurt MPC sales is software and the decreasing/affordable cost of powerful computers.

Also, wasn't the 1000 stock OS basically the same as the 2500's stock OS? I never used the 1000 OS when I had mine. Upgraded to JJ immediately!

It's all good to disagree. I just never found the JJ OS essential. I stayed with the Akai OS until the chopping improvements. The 'improvements' to load menu is what I am talking about now in the JJ OS Forum. It doesn't have a View param so I cant filter what I am trying to load.

For me, the global program edit alone was highly essential. Chopping a sample into more than 60 pieces and adjusting parameters of each one individually is not exactly a great workflow!

Did this make you throw the chalkduster at the sales graph board in a board metting with the akai directors in anger

Oh....and that one too. The programmers of the 2500 (which includes JJ) seriously overlooked that one. The 5000 was in the same boat until Akai added muiltpad edit in OS2.

I have been spending the entire weekend at home going through JJOSXL. Besides the mentioned functions, there is nothing in their I absolutely must have. They same can be said for the MPC 5000 and the MPC Ren...as there are aspects of those products I won't use. Sample recording and editing is where I believe the focus should be to really improve.

What about non-destructive chop?
