Hey mpc users!
My name is Aske, im 19 years old and i have been working on the mpc 2000xl for over a year now. I am definetly getting used to the workflow of the machine and I really enjoy working with it. But sometimes i wish to step my game a bit up an get more out of the machine, etc. I have tried to work a bit with off notes on the kicks and snares. And I have also done some shufling on some of the tracks. But nothing more than that. And i still feel like i lack something. But i dont exactly know what.
In addition, I have considered to buy a compressor and sending the drums from the mpc through it? Would any of you recomend me to do so? I feel like I lack some gritty and harshness in the sound. Otherwise, can any of you maybe recommend me some free or cheap stand alone software compressor ?
I would really appreciate if any of you wanted to comment on my work.

Some of my older beats have a lot of noise on them, which comes from a instrument cable laying loose on the floor while recording (
lol. I know.....). So keep that in mind when you listen.
Thank you /Aske
