Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

I using my Roland XP-60 with the 2000xl and a Zip 100 drive. I'm trying to send sounds from my keyboard to my MPC and save on the MPC Zip drive. I hooked midi in to the xp-60 to midi out to the mpc and midi out of the xp-60 to midi in on the mpc. I have my keyboard set to slave and the mpc as the master. I can get my keyboard sounds recorded to the mpc but once I save it and turn it off and start on a new day it doesnt play the sound correctly. I save as a midi file type 1 on the mpc. Someone please tell me that it's me and not AKAI.

When you say "it doesn't play the sound correctly", do you mean it just isn't playing the same XP instrument you were using when you made the sequence, or do you mean the notes in the sequence have been messed up?

The zip is just saving MPC data, not Roland xp data, so make sure you are saving your Roland sounds to the machine's own RAM.
