MPC studio vs Maschine Mikro

Ive searched the forum a bit but it seems that no one really discussed these two. I'm actually really looking into the Mikro because of its price, the Studio looks great but I feel its not worth it. I mean the Studio looks like it was originally aimed for the full size Maschine. So I guess what gives competition to the Mikro would be the MPD series? I don't know, generally speaking the studio and Mikro do the same thing. Any opinions? Do you guys think their the same size? Is the Studio really worth the $600?

may as well just get the full-sized maschine since it just recently dropped like $200 in retail price... i wouldn't get one of the newer model MPCs until at least a year after they've come out and had time to fix all the software bugs... and judging by the fact that they got that dipsh!t JAH doing beta testing for them, expect it to be buggy as mofo.

i think crossings made a typo on the price, thought they dropped it to $400 retail = half that on 2nd hand market

that's what i meant... the retail price dropped $200... from $600 to $400

sheeit... looks like the mikro dropped in price as well... from $400 down to $250... not bad.

I would have said that the Studio was aimed more at Maschine then the Mikro, I'm tempted to get one but I prefer the Maschine and Ren style knobs then the Studio's so may save for a year and cop the Ren (although a lot of it's features would be wasted on me).

Yeah they dropped the Mikro price same time (or days after) they dropped the Maschine price.

but to be honest all I'm really looking is at the price, but Maschine has seem to built a pretty good reputation so far but I agree with you Crossings, the new MPC's will be bugged and its better to wait just cuss the price will most likely drop as well.

250 is super cheap...why not get both and then return the one that doesnt tickle your fancy?

I hafta admit it: Maschine has a ton of sounds, some of them quite nice. The only reason why I dont own it, is because I found out about the Renny Ren going to drop...

Indeed! I think the Ren shits on all these new controllers, but talking about price range I think Maschine has Akai beat just in that area.

I think all "CONTROLLERS" are like toilet paper: some are nicer than others, and one may be THE BEST, butt in the end, theyre all disposable ...
I mean, do you see anyone actually collecting iphones and laser pointers and junk, and seeing them worth big bucks, and having tons of replacement parts for them?<<<this goes for both controllers, BTW

The Ren controller looks far superior than the Maschine. It's a audio interface/ midi controller. I think the price is about right depending on the quality of the converters.

True that, but for all of us that already have a high end audio interface, (motu 828) we are less interested in that part of the Renny Rens functionality. I really dont wanna hafta go thru the hell of re-configuring my setup>>>last time it took all afternoon, and a 12er of good beer...
