Recording ASR10 into MPC2000?

Im in the midi area on the MPC, My instruments are setup in the asr10 to midi channel 1.

I go to sequence and record but nothing plays back.

IS there a way to see if the MPC is receiving midi data?

I do not want to use any computer in this project.

well with the mpc midi out going to the asr midi in, and the asr midi out going to the mpc... you should on the main screen see a spot to change a track to what ever midi channel. try touching keys or pads... you might have to be more descriptive on what machine the sounds are in ... if you are trying to use keys or pads to trigger those sounds.. and all that info if you want some more precise help.
