sampling from a movie

I recorded a sample off of a dvd. When i play it back i get alot of white noise. Is there a setting that i'm missing b4 the recording stage. Someone help me please

maybe you recorded too low so when you play it back you have to turn the volume up so your hearing the noise more?

I set the gain on record high and then low and still i get the same white noise...what else do u have in mind. Thanks for help

yeah, I had the same problem... high pitch shit in the back round....

I would try running the dvd player threw a reciever and ujust that shit..

The signal is not clean, run it through an amplifier, like a home theater. I get the same noises, but not TONS of it. I try to take as much of it out with EQ but some remains. I never shoulda sold my amp...

I tried it out earlier today, with both Digital and line in. I didn't get the "white noise" but I did get low output from the DVD. By the way that was connecting direct from DVD to MPC. If you connect thru a mixer or your stereo receiver you will be able to boost the signal to a usable level.

if you have one, use it. i find that i get cleaner samples from that, rather than using a standard dvd player.

thanks guys for ur input. it makes sense to use an amp and or a mixer to boost the level. i let u guys know how it turns out
