i never sample from youtube , i try to find whatever it is im looking for in FLAC, if i cant find it on vinyl or cd

when i used to try and sample from youtube, nothing sounded 'full' enough and always had really bad static/hiss when i used 'stereo mix' or headphone out.

Yeah, especially it's noticeable on club PAs.. youtube ripped mp3s dont thump like they would if you had a wave or other high quality format.

However, I think within reason it might be okay in the end.. if the sample is not a full frequency range sample.. but it's a small smidgen of something that will be accompanied by other things... or it's a vocal clip added in as effect during a song intro.. or things like that.... maybe it's okay. Maybe the sampled clip could be okay at low quality if the situation allows for it. I have used the occasional audio clip from youtube where quality did not play any role what so ever... so in the end it didn't matter. Plus after running it through pluggins to beef it up and then putting it through an almost "mini-mastering" process... the end result wound up fine. Now making an entire beat out of 100% youtube clips... I dont think I would even bother trying that.
