Purely by accident, I got some of the adapters found to work in the MPC3000/MPC60 MPC2000 series.

I posted what I have in the HARDWARE FOR SALE forum.

I don't currently own an MPC3000/MPC60/MPC2000 (I own and use an MPC2500)

I want to use this thread for your experience on this particular adapter whether you buy from me or not.

Here are some helpful links:

Please feel free to add anything related to this adapter on this thread. No other models please.

Thank you for added insight.

In the process of trying out in my Kurzweil K2000R. So far evrything fits on the Kurzweil end. Just need to get a cheap card reader on the IDE/ATAPI end. Will let you know how this goes.

Ended up selling the K2000R yesterday

Looking for 1 or 2 volunteers in LA area that would test for EACH MPC. You get to keep your "test unit" as long as you post information on how to install with pictures on this thread.

Contact me for details. You will have to sign a contract requiring you to provide your personal information and legally bind you to do the testing and post your results on this thread or require you to return the test unit.

I feel this is the best way to keep it honest. I don't want to lose business by some shady person saying "it doesn't work" just to keep the test unit.

Pickup will be in person. I will require a signature for the contract. Also it's a great way to meet forum members in real life.

Any takers?

don't know wether to go with this Acard or HxC Floppy Emulator posted elsewhere.
What are advantages/disadvantages with either or?

purchased an MCP3k a few days ago and I'm amazed how this thing samples/sequences (just getting to grips with). I plan to do mostly sampling and saving, but i also want to convert wavs to SND with MPCEditor or RS16x.

The HxC seems more appealing as it comes in a case already and SD is newer technology, amiright?

My MPC3k is running OS 3.11.

or should i just go with Zips? At the moment all this just seems like an extremely daunting task...my head hurts :?

With the floppy emulator your stuck with partitions the size of floppies.
With CF cards (and zip drives) your partitions can be up to 30mb.

Please post your procedures for installation for MPCs only here. If anyone has pertinent information with the ACARD here. Pictures, firmware updates that work, anything that helps forum members.

I plan on releasing another run for forum members at the $100 shipped price but I have to figure out a better way to ship without getting hit by customs and/or shipping outside the USA.

Local pickup and shipping within US can be done quite easily but here we usually pick cheaper alternatives to the classic mpc's so interest has waned on the older gear.

There is an equipment guy who rescued a few MPC's that I deal from time to time in LA that may pick up some cards from me but I don't know if he is really interested or what prices he would resell these for.

I was also thinking of bartering these a cards for unwanted gear to those short on funds but I wanted to make it fair for those who pay. Any suggestions?

Chaka, it was nice meeting you in person. Please excuse my attire, I was about to go record digging.

Chaka agreed to post his findings with the ACARD in regards to the MPC3000 in a few weeks time.

If everything goes well, I am going to release another 10 at the same price. If everything goes sour, then I will sell only by eBay. Hopefully this works out for all.

Please post pics of your installs and what other parts you need here so it will help out the other members on this forum.

THANK YOU!
