Record onto MPC straight from USB microphone?

Hi all,

I'm looking to record vocals (i.e. raps over beats) directly onto my MPC, but the only mic I have is an Audio Technica AT2020 condenser that only connects via USB. If I were to acquire the correct cable (fat usb on both ends) and plug it into the port on the back of the MPC, could I set it up so it records through the USB?

the mpc 1k cannot record through the usb, is strictly for connecting to a computer for data storage.

also... never acquire that cable and plug it into anything... you could damage something though it's unlikely since any port like that is possibly drawing power but not providing it.

OR... you could run that mic into the computer... and run the output of your computer into the mpc.
