As I was going through the sounds and instruments of Maschine last night, I thought this exact same question.

Pardon my ignorance.
So when Maschine first dropped, it didn't drop with the Komplete Elements or any previously released NI software instruments?

Massive 6GB+ sound library, including all of the sounds of the classic MPC3000

Record each track as an MPC drum program, Keygroup program or VST/AU plugin

Drums will consist of one shots and patch phrases

Instruments will consist of keygroups---like the 4000's layout

You will have every instrument that is available on the fantoms and motif's in addition to old akai sounds and new sounds they included. 5 gigs of instruments and 1 gig of drums basically.

Some Akai products qualify users to receive free SoniVOX plugins. Hopefully this will be extended to the MPC Ren/Studio. This would be a big selling point.

It would really be sweet if the Ren/Studio shipped with Pro Tools LE like some M-Audio products.

That would be nice but I think not Pro Tools is on its own if Akai had some kind partnership it would be nice .I would really like to see what the Ren comes with .I think in my opinion thats one think for sure Akai gonna get right .

It's a sampler so it's gonna come with one shot samples and single cycle loops. A tone generator synthesizer specified for drum harmonics should be added though.

This is the first time an MPC sampler came with sounds. When I got my 2500 it came with none.

Most MPCs came with a drum library. Older MPCs had a CDROM library, the 1000/2500 cam with sounds already loaded into the ROM (admittedly, not many), and the MPC5000 had a few gigs of kits, loops and synths patches.

And can't leave out the very first MPCs which came with 4 floppy disks with sounds....

Yes they did .Its gonna very intersting to see how good the libraries are .Although its a sampler and you can use vsts it would be really disappointing to see that the sounds are crap.

MPCs have never came with sounds that you can consider outstanding. Anything Akai does will surely exceed what was provided in the past.

I hope so .Cause if they gonna be going head to head with macshine. They cant be sleeping on this cause when you look at it they are a bit more expensive than NI. Some people might say why would I spend 1300 when i can spend 600 for NI with great sounds vs akai ren which is 1300 with crap sounds .
