Is X-LCD necessary ???

Why not have a screen scroll for futures updates?
And so...
Enable / Disable a key F *
To Hold screen issue?
thus,
When we come and go to that
screen, we can follow or not
displaced on each/that screen or not.
So I could think X-LCD not necessary for me.

Awesome idea. Hopefully in the future there'd be a way to display XLCD stuff on small screen by splitting the information in half.

Eg. screen:1/2 & screen:2/2 or screen:top & screen:bottom.

having to scroll up and down all the time sounds pretty annoying to me, but im not sure what sort of stuff is displayed on x-lcd so i dont know

it's a great idea, scrolling, but from my experienced in XLCD it wouldn't look very good...sally, wait and see if XLCD will become something you need. if yes, it is an option. if no? no loss.

answer for now: it's not necessary YET. as for now, it still makes the most sense for people who are using free os because 128 free is pretty much a stripped down os2. the upgrade between free and 128 free is huge.

I think this is just the beginning. I agree that right now its not necessary; I'm still primarily using OS2XL (because I haven't bought a license to 128XL yet). But there are so many possibilities that extra screen real estate opens up that I'm excited to have input into how the OS develops.

I'm too cheap for any paid OS or the XL screen.

Hell, I don't even have the pad upgrade...

Plenty of things are not necessary...but I recommend forum members getting this screen (although I am sure my response may have the opposite effect).

OS XL users are a very small % of MPC1000/2500 users. The new screen is primarily targeted at Akai OS and free JJOS users, probably around 95+% of MPC1000/2500 users. So in that respect, I don't see how this is isolating the core users - the opposite in fact - it will be attracting more users into the JJ world.
