Chopping Samples On MPC 3000

Peace guys I am a proud owner of Akai MPC 3000 and it is the best thing I bought in my entire life. I will post a pic later in the week.

Anyways I do have a question with that said what is the best way to edit(chop) samples in Edit Samples ?? I read the manual very carefully but wasn't very clear so I need some help and expertise. Thanks !!!
