Give some more details on exactly what you are wanting to do with your mpc and/or what you wish to accomplish and maybe someone answer.

The one sampler I know that can do live looping is the zoom st224 sample trak, no joke. You can even use most of the editing functions without stopping the loops. I hope the Mpc1000 has something like this it's a lot of fun

I'd say the answer might be maybe sorta. JJ has worked in more looper-like features over time but MPC hardware has always been built more for sequenced microsampling. The biggest roadblock comes into play when you want to work with a lot of long loops because oultside of previewing in the file browser it can't play back audio directly from the hardrives the way a modern looper (or even some older non-mpc samplers) can. It's a hardware limitation.

It you want to work with short loops (short enough to fit within the 128mb memory) then it might work just fine for you.

I'd say probably not. I guess it depends on what you want to do, but there are many limitations. It's not a bad ass looping machine, it just also has a primitive loop feature. But why not install os2xl and check it out? Its free to demo (you can't save) but that'll be enough for testing...

It can't be a real time loop station for one big reason. You can't save a recorded loop or any recorded sample audio without stopping playback.

I use the loop recorder a fair bit, but you have to stop to save what you have unless you want to keep layering. If you have a sequence playing in the background, that has to stop to save the audio.

It seems to be a hardware limitation, as I have asked jj a bunh to let me save samples during playback. I still secretly hope he does it in th next big OS.

Yep, it's always been an issue. Lack of a dedcated drive controler will do that. Unless somebody comes up with a dedcated drive controller hardware add-on it's not gonna happen. You'd probably be better off just using an external looper with the MPC than to go to that extreme.
