Korg MP10Pro

A while ago I posted some info in this section about my experience with Korg's more or less discontinued line of dedicated VJ hardware. It was some of Korg's more limited-production envelope-pushing niche market stuff and I think that fact alone made it competely slip under a lot of people's radar. It may not have helped that some people balked at the price point compared to what they saw as the advantages of cheap and more widely available computer VJ apps. As a result, not many got a hands-on with these devices and I think that's really too bad because when I did I was really able to appriciate the advantages this dedicated hardware had to offer.

More than a year ago Korg quietly unveiled another unusual product that didn't really fit into any of the established catagories, The MP10pro --

This is basically a fully standalone dual mp3/midi file player dj/Karaoke machine combined with a Korg EDS sound engine midi synth (same as the M3) and a TC Helicon Vocal Processor.

I'm curious if anyone on here has used this device. I'd imagine some may want to debate the listed-on-paper advantages of this device compared to Mac/Windows based stuff but since I have a general distain for Mac/Windows solutions to anything (along with the additional hardware interfacing and latency issues) I am much more interested in how well this device actually works for it's intended purpose.

Yeah guess not...

Started going through the manual and noticed It has more features than I thought. The midi file playback doesn't have to use the internal sound engine, as midi can alternately be routed to the midi out per channel. Hmm I'm going to read some more...
