MPC4000 backingup to a MAC BOOK PRO

I don't have a 4000 but if it's anything like backing up files on an MV-8000, it takes a looooooooooooooooooooooooong azz time due to the USB1 connection.
Depending how much you have stored on the 4000's HD, it's probably best to take out the 4000's HD, put it in an external FW/USB case and back up your samples/projects to your MBP that way.

just use the usb port on the front of the machine. thumb drives/flash cards are big enough now to render computer back-ups irrelevant. this is my preferred method.

Since the op was pulled up on his yelling problem, just admit to everyone that you just can't see without your glasses or something close to that affect.

Now, in addition to your problem about formatting a drive: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=158289, yes you'll need to format it from an external source in order to reap the entire capacity of the hd.

Damn... I keep forgetting the 4000 has the front USB port for a thumb drive.
Still want a 4000 though!

Fusion works fine on my MBP, so AKsys would be my first port of call for backing up and organising folders.
