My two cents I have the 4k, ultrabeat in logic, and maschine. I mention these as they all have a build in sequencer beyond a mere sampler like exs and or battery and ableton sampler. The live playing and programming feel of each it different with ultrabeat having the most extensive drum programming options for both analog and sample drum hits. But I much prefer the 4k workflow is it far more intuitive so I create the sound off ultrabeat analog and sample into the 4k. Maschine has a duplicate editing which is faster than the 4k and the build in effects along with the third party effects integration is far beyond the 4k and tracking out is simply drag onto a daw.. However the track layout, shifting of notes, swing, note editing, layering, sample editing options, program editing, use of multis, and step editing is more my taste using the 4k. I use both whenever I have the mood too.
My point is from my experience with the two virtual sequencer drum machines along with my hardware 4k I have always looked forward to a mpc version that gives me the options of the other two but retain the workflow of an mpc. Still after I purchase the Ren I with keep my 4k as I still learn new tricks on it plus I a lot of times transfer over new knowledge learned on ultrabeat and maschine over to my 4k like getting a low sine wave and reprogramming and custom bass note or 808 sound.
To each his own once it is released have fun, learn it, and make music. What counts are your beats.
