Which DAW will you use with the Ren?

Akai boasts that you can use the Ren inside your favorite DAW as a VST or AU plugin. Which DAW (supported or otherwise) do you plan to use along side these new MPCs?

This is the only way I could see myself using it, but transport control needs to be supported, or I'll just use maschine 1.8 instead.

S1 with maschine rocks, so I'm hoping the ren is tested and works just as well..

I haven't done any actual tracking in Logic in over a year. I've just ordered Pro Tools. In the coming month, I will spend some time using both DAWs.

ahh.. I thought maybe you knew something about the combo that wouldn't work or something... cause fl studio seems to support the use of VST pluggins.

Logic would say use the one you currently own. Ren has to fit with what I mainly use for arranging and mixing not the other way round. As long as it works as an au plugin I'm set on my Apple computer. :nod:

For me.....the Ren like any MPC before it remains the centerpiece of my lab. So I choose software the compliments it.

I have Logic Studio and Pro Tools 10 (just recently purchased). I also just downloaded the demo for Cubase 6.5. I will stick with the one that makes using the Ren the easiest. I see all three products as just tape recorders and mixers.

Do you Jah, but really doe you not gonna gas up the young ins about what daw to get with ren when anyone will do. The best daw is the one you know inside and out not a virtual plugin. Time, patience, and study has to go into it to get it to work. Yup tape recorders, mixers, effect racks, and vocal trackers are everything to get your mix right. If the kids have already been tracking out beats on their current daw up to now. No need to start running around looking for something else. It is bout as funny as cats talking about what new computer they are getting for a plugin. :lol:

I`m waiting for the new logic 10 ren will be fine with what I have now instrument tracks with multi outputs. Then organise all into subgroups with plugins to the master.
