Juno 106 Problems with MPC 1000

Hi everbody,

I'm coming back to my MPC for sequencing and am running into a bit of a problem. I have a drum beat on the 1k and when I try to record midi from the 106, the drum parts cut out on the 1k. All of the drum parts are set to drum and the only midi track that is set up is the one that I'm trying to record to. Its only when I'm recording midi from the 106 that this happen. Playback is fine.

Any ideas?

are you recording on a separate track? also, set program to OFF on your midi track on the mpc.

I'm having the same EXACT issue. Only that I am using a MPC500. But yeah, I haven't solved it yet. Have you tried recording MIDI performance data incoming from a different controller or sound module (like a midi controller keyboard or other synth etc.) I just got a kx61 in the mail today and I am going to try that next.
For me it doesn't matter whether I am recording the Juno106 on a separate track or not, have it assigned to a program or turned OFF, mute group on pads/notes selected or not, mono or poly, MIDI/SYNC set to receive the Juno's assigned CH or not, MIDI/Sync set to pass MIDI data THRU or not, none of these troubleshooting experiments makes any difference in my situation. maybe they do for you. Theoretically, if you have the JUNO recording or playing on a separate track from the other performance data, and the JUNO track is not assigned to a program or on DRUM mode, then everything should work fine. I know that you can switch if you switch to FUNCTION I on the back of the JUNO it will turn the omni function off. I've tried all settings I, II, & III, none of them make any difference again in my situation. let me know if you have luck

Same thing happened to me. I ended up trading my 106 for a blue sh-101.

Still curious to find out the fix.

VintageAudio4Life found the Juno was sending a CC123 all notes off MIDI message, and filtered it out with the MOTU MIDI interface he was using in his setup...
