Best way to track out via Stereo outs?

I'm a newbie but so far I've found a few ways to track out beats via the stereo outs. Which is the best in your opinion?


1. Loop the sequence and manually solo each sound for each pass until you have everything. Once in the DAW you just match the tempos, align the very first beat then chop equal bars. Some sounds will need to loop twice as you probably won't be able to press solo right on the barline. Here is an example

2. Solo each sound and use a countoff. Once in the DAW align the countoff beeps and everything will be in sync.


Questions - With the first method is there a specific way to automate the track soloing so you don't need to do it manually? Maybe a feature that will automatically solo each instrument every time it loops?

Are there any advantages/disadvantages to each?

If you pan pair of mono tracks hard left, and hard right respectively, you can then track out two tracks at a time using the stereo outs.

As with most things in life there is no best way, just different ways of doing things.
