transposing a single track in a sequence???

i saw a post on here that was similar but didn't really go into detail. I was wondering how to transpose a single track in my sequence . I played the melody using my midi keyboard and tried turning the transpose up an octave but it sounds the same. What am I not doing? Also now that I think of it, the way I used to do this on the 2000 was to go into step edit and change the notes individually an octave lower, but now on the 4000 it doesn't even display the note i.e. c# it just says the pad number. Can I change this? Please help !!! - J. White

First off, if you morons had spent the same ammount of time reading and talking $h!t about my questions, you could have just answered them. You act like you were never confused about something. Second, I'm sure in the 100 + pages of threads i'm not the only one to repeat a question. Third, yes I have read the manual and just like any manual or textbook every explanation isn't perfect.
