There's lots of info already on the forum just sitting there waiting for someone to use the search function.

but now thinking of using an ext enclosure for the reader instead + zip drive.

if my setup turns out non hot-swappable, that would be lame. can't use this machine solely for sampling and storage, i use recycle tons and would like to also use MPCEditor. Anyone Mac based with this Acard setup?

any info / tips is greatly appreciates

thanks

The Acard doesn't allow hotswaps. That shouldn't stop you using Recycle and MPC editor.

Thanks for the links Chaka and Acid Mitch. I have decided that I will try and update the firmware to make it more accessible to those who won't be able to do it themselves.

So sales for the acards new in box with firmware untouched will continue as planned. But for those who want to wait for the firmware upgrades, I will sell as used, no exchange. Price will remain the same either way.

The upgraded firmware cards will be available after September 1, 2012. I need some time to prepare.

Chaka, maybe we can work together on this? I don't have a 3000 to test with..,

@CHAKA Hey bro do you have time this week to meet up? I would like to borrow your adaptec scsi card so I can flash some ACARDs.

I am working with Chaka to flash the cards for September. I borrowed an adaptec SCSI card will be using a Windows XP rig.

I will be posting the computers specs in a few days. Hopefully it will be helpful to others on the forum.

Please allow me until after the 2nd week of September, as I am doing this as time allows.

I will be flashing one card as 3.75 and the other as 3.87
We will then test on Chaka's MPC3000.

I am still looking for other models of MPCs to test with. Volunteers will be able to keep the card in exchange for use of your MPC model. This test sampling will be done in the Los Angeles area only.

I am back and have some time from work. I am starting the flashing process from scratch.
I have a quick question though for anyone who might be of help...Can the flashing computer be on Windows Vista? I have to choose to build from Vista or XP.
