Damn that encoder! That is the only flaw in the 2500 now. Why Numark aproved of that vs the 2k, 1k and 4k encoder is beyond me.
I hope that's next on the list if its possible to change it. I would sure love to have a 4k style replacement.

Any ETA on other XL screen colours? May be interested in red for one of my units. I also really want 'black' for my main machine (is it possible to get the white 'border' on the black/white screen black as well?). I really like the look of the original sized black screen, but I think the white 'strip' around the inverted white XL screen looks odd.

Just went back to look at the full list of missing XL features. As much as I would like to try the bigger screen, I will have to pass. Too many features are missing from the XL OS.

Thanks for taking the time to respond. I will try to check back here and there to keep tabs on the progress. One suggestion I would like to offer, if you have any pull with JJ at this stage would be.... Do not let this turn into the MPC4000 / MV8800 screen. It is very cluttured. They tried to fit too many features / graphical controls / options on to one screen. I would always end up feeling like I might as well be using a computer. The simple MPC workflow was kind of lost.

When in doubt, make things bigger (not smaller to fit more items on one screen).
I hope the venture works out well for you both.

Hello,
I've received the XL Lcd from MPCStuff but i Can't install OS 128 on my MPC 2500.
The installation from compactflash is ok but when i reboot i see :
The first boot screen JJOS 128 VVP Ver 1.02
240 x 128 ETC.....

Then the main screen appears only 1 second and immediately after i have this message:

{{{ Not Found OS128 original }}}
Switch the unit off and back on.
{{{ [WINDOW BUTTON ]Power ON }} and the MPC freeze......

Tried many time with others versions of Free 128OS : same results (Starting from original akai os ,jjo1 and JJos2)
Maybe a bug on the OS......???

Get in touch with Mike from MPCStuff.com direct via email (sales@) and let him know. It may be a known issue for which he has a solution, otherwise he'll forward it to JJ to investigate.

Email me at [email protected] , there is an EASY fix for this. It was a known issue on a few disks that went out. They were fixed now

im gonna by a screen for my 1000 when it drops to help support development. even though its missing features i feel we can help this grow.
