the s950 i used for the snare and bass drum and hi hat...
i just resampled everything back into the 3000 to sequence..

u should just seqs the s950 with the 3000. it was tight. ur other beats are better though. the second one was dope.

I liked everything besides how how the kick was programmed and quantized. The rest of the beat was perfect though.

Just trigger the sample inside the 950 from the 3000 seq.

why ? i hate dealing with floppies, and its much faster to work on everything within the 3000

Just that I think the S-900/950 sound loses some hit when you do it that way.
I just love 12-bit drums at 11773hz, swing the filter a little to thicken and they sound nice.
I'm not even really talking that grimey sound just thick.
You could get yourself an old Mac and a copy of Alchemy and store your S-900/950 samples on ZIP's. CDR's or a HD.

I just wish Linn could have kept SDS on the MPC-60 with his improved update.
Unfortunately he told me it was a case of limited available space to program so they asked users what features of the original O.S. they would be willing to give up.

i dont have enough patience to use the s900 for anything except resampling at this point...
i resample back through an eq so it makes the s900 hit sound even better and fatter after goin through my mackie then i have a dope drum sample on my 3k that i can use whenever fast

That's cool, but I'll go to my grave saying I never heard anything sound better because it went through a Mackie.
I know lots of people use them but I can't stand using a Mackie 8's.
The EQ is tolerable for cutting freq but hate the sound of it's boost.
I know plenty of others who will agree.

This is really interesting what you are saying about the 8 bus.
What kind of mixer (EQ) would you prefer to it ?

the vlz's actually sound a little better than the 8-bus and has less crosstalk.

really depends. Heavy into Pro Tools so generally use individual pres', eq's and compressors to track through the Apogee converters into PT.
Then I build the mix in PT.
If I want it to sound more analog I mix through a HEDD192 or fed out to a Folcrom and strap 2 ME-1nv's across it.
A mixer with enough inputs and an equivalent sound would cost too much and take up to much physical space.
Plus it would kill my flexibility.
