Both threads are utterly pointless. The other one should get buried in the Studio Environments forum because it has **** all to do with the ren, and this one should be locked. :fku:

3. Program mode. I would like to see some sort of program mode within Sample Editing. In Program Mode, you can assign/edit sounds on the pads. So if I strike Pad1, the sample assigned to that pad will be displayed in the waveform view ready for editing. Strike Pad2 and the sample assigned to that pad will be ready for editing. Let not forget the same level of function for key group programs.

Tis is what I would most like to see in the Ren.

...I am inclined to write my all inclusive list of functions I would like to see implemented in the Ren.

You need to write a feature list even though you are the only person that it's relevant to, you know exactly what you have, and exactly what your getting ≈≈≈!?! :|

That makes zero sense!

Here's where I think the situation stands. Just like with Roger Linn's machine - the dates gotten stretched, the pretty pictures are now routine, it's been discussed to ad nauseum, info is scarce ,and the interest of prospects is fading.

The Ren is not released. They only thing you can really write in this forum is how much you hate/dislike a product (what many forum members do) or you can simply write about how you plan to use the Ren and features and functions you would like to see implemented. I prefer the latter.

If you are interested in the Ren and there is something that you find missing in another sampler that you would like to see implemented in the Ren.....feel free to contribute.

The Ren is being talked about everyday and it is being discussed more than any other MPC. If interest is fading....I have yet to really notice.

And

Akai, times up, give me the Ren. :smoker:

JAH wrote:Sample Editing is an essential part of samplers in my opinion. But I have yet to purchase a sampler that does everything I like. So these are the sample editing features I would like to see in the MPC Ren:

10. Streaming samples from hard disk.

Streaming samples from hard disk is something I would like to see added in the Ren. Implemented the right way, this could be another means of nondestructive editing.

DAWs like Cubase allows you to record and stream audio tracks from disk. When editing these tracks, the original file on disk is left unaffected. So you can assign the same audio file to multiple tracks and edit them independently. This is what I would like the Ren to accomplish.

7. Time stretching/Pitch Shifting. Realtime processing should finally be within the reach of an MPC. I am talking beyond the JJ OS or MV. I am talking adding Warp markers DAW style and having samples auto time stretch to fit a sequence.

I would like a streamlined version of this in Sample Edit Mode.

looks like this would require hands off Ren, and hands on mouse real time processing

A mouse would certainly be needed. I can't see a way to do this from the hardware controller. That doesn't mean it should be included. You will find the Ren has standard functions that you will need a mouse for...such as drag-n-dropping samples onto pads.

You can also load sounds to pads directly from the controller like every other MPC.

Why do I always feel like I have to defend this guy Jah...you guys need to give this guy a break. He has the REN, he basically tells you about the features it has, with out telling you that he is telling you that (because that would be bad - get it), and you jump on the guy...Why is there so much female period action on this forum. MAN UP! STOP BITCHIN!

No he doesn't. He persistently trolls the forum with cryptic threads like this one and the one that got locked.
