Most of the bugs reported on the MPC5000 is due to is glitching out when you replace the hard drive.
SSD is great for computers but I would recommend against it on your 5k

Why? I'm using the 5000 on a daily basis for two years now just fine.

So I just bought an SSD and an SSD to IDE adaptor.
On the end of the adaptor's ribbon cable is a 40 pin female plug.
The ribbon cable that was connected to the MPC's original HD also has a female plug, but the two ports in the middle of that plug are filled in.
So if I was to get an IDE male to male gender changer, how would this fit?
Every gender changer I have seen has the standard 40 pins - have any of you had to snap these two corresponding pins off of a gender changer, but still had the MPC work successfully with an SSD?
I imagine if the MPC motherboard has no need for these pins, then the only issue is if the adaptor or SSD needs them.
