how many of you with mpc4000, actually multisample?

i mean, you guys might have bought multisamples, but do you multisample your keyboards, etc.? or do you just midi sequence them?

if you do! how many samples do you usually put in a program? im talking mainly synth and bass sounds here, not acoustic or piano.

if you sample keyboards do you sample everything dry, and turn off the attack and decay? or do you just sample a patch you like or made?

I do when there's obviously a need for it, but if I can I prefer not to, I'm not that quick at doing it on the 4k yet. Number of samples depend as well, for instance, for basses it's not that critical. Maybe 3 or 4.

I multi sample when it's necessary... for bass lines, I like to sample every
4 or so semitones.... same with pads and sweeps etc... c

cool.

Have you guys bought any good multisample cds?

Yeah, im about to purchase an mpc4000, comming from a mpc2xl.

So far i just sequence my synths via midi......but i want to really get into multisampling, as when i go to the studio, or friends house, i can just bring my MPC and stop lugging gear.

plus then i can also make some hot sample cds and sell them. Right now i got several bass pgms i use on my mpc2xl....Ive got a sample for every note. I think it would be nice to get even more control over the sounds too....as i can synthesize nice patches, then sample them, and filter them more, and trim them up, and get crazy with them like a sample.

But its so nice that i have my basss inside my mpc, because then i can use it to lay down a skeloton, without my keyboard......later i can dial up a new bass on my keyboard, switch the track from drum, to midi and everything meshes well. It helps for me to keep my focus on composing rather then synthesizing.

peace thanks for the help
