So current Maschine owners would get the 1.8 update for free right? Maybe this will motivate Akai to make constant updates.

Doesn't seem like this makes Ren seem outdated. Still no sound card . Seems to be a lot of cosmetic changes with a few extras. If they do a maschine Ren with a sound card they might be ready to kill. Still I just copped a maschine because of price drop. Hmmmm maybe I will return it.

The soundcard in the Ren is surplus to requirements for most people. Maschine doesn't need one unless NI eventually make it standalone, which probably won't ever happen.

kinda disappointed mk2 is a replacement for original maschine, personally I was expecting more changes and seems like all they did is repacked old maschine with few minor tweaks....still no tilt screen maybe they trying to get rid of all the inventory before puttn out new unit on the market
