In trim mode, Q-link sliders Q1 and Q2 control Start and End positions absolute, where each end of the slider is the end of the sample, and any movement instantly jumps the start or end position to that absolute location.
If you move both Q1 and Q2 down, you have start and end at 0. If you want to select a sound located near the beginning, you move your Q1 to put the start position at the start of the sound. Now you'd expect to be able to move your Q2 to set the end position.
But the Q2 is located at 0, and as soon as you move it the end position jumps to 0. This would be fine, except that the trim mode is setup where you can push the other end point by moving the other past it. If your start is 10, and your end is 20, if you move your end to 10, then on to 9, 8, 7, your start will keep changing with it to 9, 8, 7 as the end point pushes it back.
So in practice, using the Q-links messes up your selections. You set a start point, you move the other slider, and it is usually positioned somewhere outside the other, which then changes your start position you just lined up perfectly.
In trim mode, when using the Q-link sliders to change start/end, they shouldn't affect the other position. If you move the slider that changes the end point, and it's before the start point, then just don't let the end point go beyond the start point. Don't ruin the existing start point by pushing it to match the end point.
