Does anyone knowHOW the AKai ME35T works???

with the sensors in front of it like i said, u hook them up to it and it willl detect audio.

The pad sensor board in an MPC3000 ( probably an MPC60 too ) is based around the ME35T circuit.

haha why thank u. Philly that thing works like this. U could setup thouse sensors in a drum kit and then when u hit the drums it will send the data the sensor recives as midi and it will trigger whatever. so say i could hook it up to a mpc and have a kick drum play a kick sample and a hat play a hat sample and etc... its really kind of worthless if u dont play some kind of instument. it just makes it so u can trigger midi with drumkits.

what do you mean by sensors?

it has 8 1/4 inch audio inputs, and midi IN, OUT, and THRU jacks...

as far as i know you can hookup a mic or an instrument and trigger a sample through midi... im not sure if you can have it interpret velocity and other variables and convert that to midi also, is it a "true" sound to midi converter? i have never hooked mine up and tried it out yet, and i cant find a manual online or any other documentation on this thing really at all...
a manual would be very informative... any other information anyone has on this subject would be greatly appreciated... i cant wait to figure this thing out and use it for something, although i can only imagine that it would be useful in a live performance, and im pretty far from being ready to rock a live show right about now... like my recording arts teacher said about equipment, "always buy for the future, not the present"... plus i found this thing used dirt cheap, i cant complain... i would love to come across a downloadable manual though...

yeah i saw the sensors that come with it in that pic and all these other sites with it say they have sensors with it. it seems to be used by drummers to trigger s950s and other samplers. prob big in the 80s when bands were on that synth shit. think like phil collins.

i aint got a pic at all, but on the back it just has 8 inputs(1/4inch) and midi in, out, and thru...

on the front there is a channel select that looks like it goes 1-8, a pair of "adjust" buttons(one for up and one for down)... it also has 8 more buttons on the front, one each for :
"midi channel", "midinote", "sensitivity", "trigger", "cap time", "recovery time", "on time", and "v-curve" ...

id love to find out more about this thing....

get some sensors one for each input. do a search on Midi controller sensors and u should get a lot of results. then make wierd things controllers. like make pad to hit with drumsticks and have trigger off drums in the mpc.

it's probably a drum trigger interface, so you send it a trigger signal and it triggers midi.

Could I you use the Akai ME35T to, say resample my drums from my MPC 3000 to My S950 by using the Akai ME35T to Pick up the MPC'S Midi for that 12 bit grit????

you don't need that to resample, you can do that now.

all it does is say make a acoustic drum set play a sampler. thats it. its really not that complicated.
