So pretty much all I have is an MPC, an SD card with samples and breaks, studio headphones, and my computer.

I know how to use the MPC after reading the manual. All I need is to upload my music online so I can ask my friends for feedback.

Do I need hardware to connect my MPC to the computer?

Is there any hardware that I should have that will do this plus extra shit like effects?

once you done with your sequence hip mode record, record, then play start. record the whole sample ,save it as a wave file, name it and then you can move it over to your pc when its connected via usb. Can't speak on adding affects after the fact except for in a daw or mixer.

Edit: if your mpc has USB, ( forgot about that one crucial detail lamp)

Exactly why I didn't come with the USB solution

2kxl, you'll need to play your mpc audio outs (dual 1/4 cables) into a soundcard / mixer / audio interface (whatever the connector is on that gears ANALOG IN-RECORD IN) into your recording software on your computer (pc or mac). There you can save as wave, mp3, whatever and share it out.

 I'll just keep my ass in the 1000 subforum.

Thanks Lampdawg! Hey man do you recommend I get anything else with the MPC? Like a mixer or something? Or should I just buy Pro Tools or other software and edit my music there?

What all gear do you have? (and do you know how to use it).

What is your budget?

What type of gear and specs are you looking for?

These are questions you need to ask yourself or else your GONNA end up spending money on shit you don't need. Your already hinting at heading down that path.

I only have an MPC, headphones, and more breaks and samples than you could imagine from my breaking days. If that's all I need than I'm cool with just that combo but however since I'm a newb, I'm interested in knowing if there's anything that's essential to the beginner. As far as knowing how to use the MPC, I don't have any problems so far that practice can't fix.

My budget is fine for whatever will be very useful down the line but I don't have GAS (gear acquisition syndrome) so I don't sweat not having a production center in my room.

Do what the manual says and get a DPS
