it makes audio signals midi data. im guessin u can do stuff like play tappin on a table and that will translate it to midi data to trigger something ie mpc. Or u can say activate the pitch bend with ur voice im guessing u could do it. im guessing thouse things in front of it in the pic are the sensors.
ME35T TRIG TO MIDI

The 1U rackmount ME35T converts audio trigger signals into midi signals (midi channel, note, velocity, on time, recovery time, etc). Each input can be triggered from an electronic drum, an acoustic drum, or from a microphone. And with its eight inputs, the ME35T gives you plenty to control. Whether you are a DJ using a mic, or a performer on stage with a full compliment of electronic sensors, you can combine creative expression with the advanced technology of digital samplers and synthesizers. The ME35T allows you to merge the midi signal from the audio inputs along with the MIDI signal from an external keyboard or sequencer so that you may use both devices to drive your midi sound generator.* 8 audio inputs (-40dBv to +18dBv)* Midi input, output, and thru* 1 space rack mount design* Mfg list price $499.95.

"i got one of these and it didnt come with any "sensors"."

The sensors would be on the peizo's as part of an electronic drums set (for instance). They feed the jacks on the back of the ME.

Most every manufacturer has make these trigger brains, but what makes the ME unique is that Akai Pro had integrated control of the ME into their sample series. That is, you can control/setup the ME from some like the S950, S3000XL via sysex.

yea, thats why i copped it(besides the hella low price), because my s950 had mentioned it in its menu... im hoping that i can just use a mic to trigger midi... i dont know though, id need to use low to high Z adaptor since the ME35T has only 1/4 inch inputs and no xlr inputs...

maybe i could just go straight into the ME35T straight from a guitar?
