anyone messing with cheap bass modules synths like nanobass/bass station? any good or do you have to get into more expensive stuff?

I've got a Waldorf Pulse. It's fine for sub and synthlike basses, but doesn't reproduce acoustic basses too well.
I also tried the Novation bass-station for a while, but didn't like it either. In my opinion your better of with an old sampler and some good sample-cd's.

Roland juno-106 are good for bass and are cheep to, from 250-400 usd.
