Who's got questions?

So I know you all have a ton of questions. I was lucky enough to be one of the first so I will try and answer some if you will do the same for me. I have never owned an mpc so asking to me to compare is useless.

What has been slowing me down is hooking up my cdj turntable to my mpc.. I think the problem is that I am running rane with serato but I have tried the RCA inputs and xlr's with no luck.. I am sure I will figure it out but need to work with clips not a whole song. I have found how to record samples within the mpc software but can't capture my turntables sound. I need to still run a few tests..

Loading samples is a breeze.Could drag from desktop to pad and it works. There is no lag whatsoever on my computer. MacBook pro 10.6.8
Samples sound great and theres plenty to choose from. Was able to use time stretch easily along with chopping samples by the different ways

I run logic but really have only been using the new mpc software. I have used guitar software as plug ins but didn't find the mpcs' in logic even though I downloaded it when I first started off ( need to do more research)
It took me most of the day to set it up. Didn't record anything youtube worthy although I am sure you want to see the workflow. Logic did notice my mpc and actually switched my interfaces on me (not a fun hour)

I really like the record play undo buttons but I have never had an mpc.

Both my friend and I agree vintage mode is pretty sick.. Something about that 60 is special. But you can tell the difference

There are some preloaded kits then a ton of single snares kicks hi hats and other shit scattered all over the place. Sounds pretty good.. not your average logic drum kits

Has anyone gotten the expansions working?

Manual should have a lot more info but is basic..I wish it said more because I had a ton of questions and no one to ask ( 8 pages)

It's high priced but you can tell they are trying to give you your moneys worth. Works smoothly enough but theres a ton to explore still

one question,. can we do a friendly battle once u get familiar with ur ren??? just for shits and giggles

Can you please test the emulation modes an post some downloadable audio samples? Thanks.

When you go to applications folder on your mac, control/click on logics app logo and go to get info, see if the 32bit or 64bit( cant remeber) is checked.... check or uncheck it to change it to 32 or 64bit and reopen logic, it will rescan any plugs that are not scanned yet.

Does it have a pdf manual on this discs it came with?

Did you get the dvds of sounds working?

There is an MPC Content folder created upon Install. You should be able to quickly access sound library content from the browser. If your sounds are not in the MPC Content folder, you can still access them. You can set the Ren's browser to where ever you have content saved to...up to 5 locations.

If the expansions are installed correctly, you can access them by setting a Track to Plugin Instrument. Then you can select any of the available expansions.

Inflict I would love to battle you..just need to figure this bad boy out because I am still cheating.. chopped my samples in logic and just moved it over the the mpc pads.

Do you just want a sample of 3000/ 60/ other for emulation modes? Would do this tonight but my neighbors like to complain about noise and I want to show you what this thing can do

Thanks for the tips. No Pdf and the dvd's dont work but they could be instruments and need keys to work? Jah probably knows what I am talking about. It's weird because theres a clusterf*&k of samples and some are dubstep some are 808.. makes me think if they just grouped together. However I don't think they did because all 4 discs seem to not be working except for the main one that says download first.

Jah Bless.. I understand what your saying (i think). SO do you have the 809 the bank the noise and the wub all working? Because Mpc Drum content and Mpc Loop Library is the only thing I have working

The pdf manual is located within the software. You can access in in the MPC help menu.

Several of the DVDs are plugin instruments. You have to click on the installers to install on your computer

so you not be able to load the wub the same way as the stock samples, you will have to open it as a plug in inside the ren software...

Is there anyway to share that reference manual? Or is that not kosher?

Correct. The Wub is a plugin that you would assign to a track. Then you choose one of the many Wub presets.

In Program Edit Mode, the Wub is auto-mapped to the Qlinks.

As far as sharing the manual...it's under the same copyright as any other manual. Not sure if it is ok to distribute on-line or if Tutor will allow a link to be posted here.

once you do that, mix down that track to mp3 and post it on soundcloud. don't put it on youtube. that way people can here for themselves and not be degraded by youtube.

Not a big fan of dub step.. but its taking over and the first thing I thought of when I saw that new machine and jeremy ellis going to town(when he was messing with the faders).. HOWEVER I feel this has been sent to destroy the maschine ..and for any mpc head this thing is sweeeeeeeeeet.
