Do any of you use the effects board for the MPC? If so, how do you like it and where can I get one from?

ill sell you mine, i never use it to be honest. most of the effects will only work with alot of distorion and gain.

Effects within the MPC are only good for demo's. I can't see anyone in their right mind using that effects processor over a reverb unit etc... when mixing

I think the effects are great. I find that most people either do not know how to properly use effects and/or just try to use the presets.
It is the same effects engine that Akai has used for many years in their S-series samplers. I never hear S-series users complain about the effects board. S-series users tend to be hardware oriented and very experienced.

I agree. After your recommendations I copped it and I must say I like it. You can do a LOT with the card. Just can't be closed minded about it
I feel like Diamond D, the best producer on the mic...

I have one. It's OK to make a quickly job. No one FX could be sync to MIDI.

You mean like the way they did it for 30 years before midi sync effects became common the 90's?
Anyone with 6th grade math can manually set effects to match whatever BPM is used.

i think that might content on what stuff you're producing, for my Liveacts IMHO would be nearly impossible to care about the syncing th effects all the time (i really have much more "work"on stage to do) ... i prefer extern effect hardware gear, i love my TC's
