Yea not all will crash I have a project file that is guaranteed to crash your mpc software i can send it if you want to test it. I was told to send it to akai for testing they will next week.

I noticed if I copy a sequence to another sequence then delete the copied sequence the ren then plays the very first sequence loaded when the deleted sequence should be blank. When you then stop the sequence and press play again the sequence is now blank as it should have been from the start. This appears to be an official bug.

No not yet I'm thinking its something with the samples because last night when making a kit i was loading up some one shot samples to the pads the software just crashed they need a recovery mode. I lost all my work. didn't think to save every 1 min.

I believe there are issues with older MPCs as I have just been trying some files from the 3000/2000/XL and I've had a number of problems, including a few random app crashes.

MPC2000XL:

ALL and APS not working (APS loads sounds only)
PGM Working
MID loading, but no sound even though sequence events are there and correct program assigned. Erratic though, as sometimes track 1 works. Get different results depending on whether I first load a blank Ren project first (File > New project).

MPC3000/2000:

APS and PGM load fine

'All' file loads, sequence data seems all there, but all DRUM tracks now MIDI. So you have to reassign each as 'MPC' tracks with the correct program. However some times this causes the app to crash. OTher times the app has crashed while loading the APS.

There's a review video out there where the guy reckons legacy MPC stuff loads perfectly, but that's not quite true, clearly some pre-Numark MPC projects are flakey. MPC1000/2500/5000 stuff is loading pretty well (especially 5000), and the 4000 files I tried were okay except the AKM wasn't recognised.

I will report whatever I find direct to the Ren developers.

Can't get the mpc plugin to work with logic pro 9.1.7 (running Mac os 10.7.4). I can't even locate the plugin in the daw. Any ideas?

The MPC Plugin v1.0 is a 32-Bit only (for now). If you're running Logic in 64-Bit mode, you won't be able to see it or add it to a track.

To switch Logic Pro between 32- and 64-bit mode
Navigate to and select the Logic Pro icon in the Applications folder.

Choose File > Get Info.

Do one of the following:

Select the "Open in 32-bit mode" checkbox to open Logic Pro in 32-bit mode.

Deselect the "Open in 32-bit mode" checkbox to open Logic Pro in 64-bit mode.

Are you saying you got the MID files from the 4000 to work on Ren? If so, please tell me how...

I am running 32 bit and can't find a plug in for logic either. It seemed that it was an option to download it and I made sure it was checked..

Also after I arrange a song and go back to the main page the sequence will say the last one you were working on (lets say 5) but really it's always the first sequence you created and have to move them around again just to be on the correct track/sequence...unless that is normal or just me

I am running 10.6.8 macbook pro

I am using Cubase 6.5 32 Bit and can use the MPC Ren on OSX.

Are you trying to use the Ren in standalone Mode and as a Logic plugin? And of course, male sure Logic can see the location where the MPC VST is located.

Loaded an ALL file from the MPC4000 - loads up without any problem.

Could you please explain your process? I can load everything but ALL and MID files. Where are you dragging them in? Is there anything "special" that needs to be executed? Thanks!

I'm literally just double clicking the ALL file from the File browser on the left hand side. It's working every time for me.

When trimming a sample (trim mode, not chop mode) using the q links to adjust the end point of a sample skips to the beginning of the sample erratically sometimes. Even when using the x1 or x10 and turning slowly...it may skip straight to the beginning of the sample...making you have to bring it all the back to the end and trim.
