You can not use the Ren without a computer.
You will have to get the MPC Fly (coming later) to work with your iPad.

Maybe we will see an MPC RenXL.
That would simply need to add:
1. Intel Core i5 processor
2. 8 GB Ram
3. 256 GB SSD
4. DVD-R drive + SDXC card port
5. USB, Firewire, Thunderbolt ports
6. HDMI port
This product would set you back about $3000-$4000
Or...you can buy yourself a Ren + Laptop (or iMac or Mac Mini)....get the same level of power for cheaper.
