Anyone?

I emailed Dan about an issue regarding loading "All Programs & Sounds" and "All Sequences and Songs" from the 2000xl. He responded saying that you have to also load the individual sequences, songs and pgms.

While i normally, on the xl, just save all sequences and songs" and "save all programs and sounds" without saving them individually, this is a work around that will definitely keep the 2000xl plugged up.

That doesn't sound user friendly at all. This should be in the new feature thread.

I noticed a similar problem when loading a program from the 2000. It loads some sounds into the pads and the rest show a question mark as if the sound is missing, and the sound is shown in the browser so I would have to drag that particular sound to the respective pad. What's dans email I have another issue I need him to answer.

Please don't start giving out Dan's email address, he's not first line support for the Ren, he's one of the lead software developers. I think the OP has some direct connection to Akai or another beta tester etc.

If you need anything answering post it up and myself or other Ren owners can help out. As for file compatibility, I'm literally typing up my text/video review right now, so should have something live by the end of the day. However MPC2000/XL will be in the follow up review, I'm just doing the 'numark' MPCs first.

But it looks like MPC2000XL APS and ALL dont currently work in OS 1.0, PGM and MIDI do though. Please report it in the Bugs topic, not the Feature Suggestions

Thanks. Look forward to it.

This sounds actually like a pretty big deal... Getting a Ren will negate all previous work on earlier MPC's. I know on my 2k i save all I do on floppies and then every so often dub to tape so not being able to efficiently transfer my work over would be a huge deal for me.

Yeah...And even when u load the the individual sequences from the 2kxl, it doesn't play them. You'll be able to see them, but they don't play. MAYBE track one will play. Maybe. Hopefully this will be handled in v1.1.

For now, I have found a work around for both problems. The work around is tedious and a workflow killer, lol, but it works. :smoker:
